2025 QAL: Block 7 - Connect Four
Block 7 – Keepin’ It Simple (On Purpose!)
It’s officially that time of year—summer is in full swing, your schedule is probably bananas, and if you’re anything like me, your sewing time might be competing with vacations, cookouts, and just trying to keep up with life. That’s why Block 7 of our 2025 QAL is coming in with full “low-effort, high-reward” energy.
This week’s block is:
✅ Super fast
✅ Super easy
✅ Super beginner-friendly
I designed this one from scratch using just two fabrics, and it’s the perfect block to help you stay caught up—or get caught up if life’s been a little extra lately.
Whether you’re sewing along in real time or jumping in later, this block is a great reminder that not every step has to be complicated to be beautiful. Sometimes, simple is the win.
About My Fabric Choices…
I paired a sprinkle-y pink with a soft purple floral for this one, and if you’re thinking, “Hmm… not sure I’d choose those,”—same, bestie. 😅 I’m not totally convinced either, but I’m embracing it. Sometimes it’s about experimenting, stretching, and seeing how things land once the full quilt comes together. Spoiler: I think this block will shine when surrounded by others!
Quick Tips:
Use a good starch or press as you go to keep everything crisp (this block goes together fast).
If your prints are similar in scale, like mine, consider increasing the contrast with color or tone.
Don’t overthink it—just sew the thing!
Now it’s your turn—share your Block 7 in the Facebook group or tag me on Instagram with #SewBeccaQAL. And if you’re behind? No worries. This block’s designed to help you catch up without stress.
You’ve got this—happy sewing! 💗
