2025 QAL: Putting it all Together
The Finish Line Is Here | 2025 QAL 💛
We made it, friends.
If you’re sitting there looking at your quilt top, your blocks all sewn together, or even a stack that’s almost ready to become a top, take a minute to soak it in. You showed up for this Quilt Along. You made time. You kept going. And that matters.
The 2025 QAL has officially wrapped up, and I couldn’t be more proud of this community.
Bringing It All Together
The finishing pattern is all about letting your blocks shine while giving them a little structure and breathing room. The sashing and borders pull everything together into a quilt that feels complete and intentional, without taking away from the work you’ve already done.
As you work through the finishing steps, here are a few friendly reminders:
Measure your quilt center before adding borders. This helps keep everything nice and square.
Take your time matching seams, especially where the sashing and cornerstones meet.
Press in a way that works for you. There’s no one “right” direction here.
And if you decide to tweak something, change fabrics, or make it your own, that’s not breaking the rules. That’s quilting.
Finished or Not, You’re Doing Great
Some of you already have a finished quilt top. Some are halfway there. Some are planning to come back to it once life calms down a bit.
All of that is okay.
Quilt Alongs aren’t about racing to the end. They’re about learning, community, and making something meaningful with your hands. Wherever you are in the process, you belong here and you should be proud of what you’ve made.
