Layer Cake Tango
Layer Cake Tango: Give Your Favorite Prints a Little Spotlight!
You know those fabrics you hate to cut into tiny pieces because you love the print so much? This quilt gives them room to show off!
Layer Cake Tango, also known as Parker’s Quilt, starts with 10" squares and adds a little something around each one that makes the blocks look like they’re lifting right off the background. It’s a fun shadow effect, and the fabric you choose can really change the look.
In the video, I’ll walk you through putting the blocks together and share tips along the way. Once you see how those pieces work together, that shadow isn’t quite the mystery it first appears to be!
The pattern makes a twin quilt and uses one layer cake, or 34 individual 10" squares, along with background, shadow, and binding fabrics. Pull out a bundle you’ve been saving or put together your own combination from your stash. I’d love to see what you choose!
