This Is Not Just a Trip. It’s Your Creative Reset.

Australia. New Zealand. A sewing machine humming while the ocean stretches forever outside your window. You don’t need another half-finished project sitting in a pile. You need time. Space. Energy. And people who get why fabric choices can feel like life decisions.

This retreat was built for that. No distractions. No laundry. No “I’ll sew later.”
Just you, your creativity, and a group of people who speak fluent quilt.

During the cruise, your world becomes:

  • Morning coffee with ocean views

  • Sewing sessions where time disappears

  • Laughing with people who instantly feel like your people

  • Stepping off the ship into places most people only see on screens

  • Time and space dedicated to quilting and sewing

  • Opportunities to learn from Sew Becca, Chris Marchini, and Ian

From Sydney to quiet moments at sea, every part of this trip is designed to feel full without feeling rushed.

If you want the SewBecca retreat experience (workshops, group access, all the good stuff), you must book through our official link.

It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey.

We’ll set sail aboard the stunning Celebrity Edge on November 11, 2027, traveling from Sydney, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand.

Along the way, you’ll wake up somewhere new, including:

  • Milford Sound

  • Doubtful Sound

  • Dusky Sound

  • Dunedin

  • Christchurch

  • Wellington

  • Tauranga

  • Bay of Islands

This isn’t a packed schedule or a race from place to place. It’s slower than that. Better than that. With up to six days at sea, you’ll have real time to: sew without interruption, learn something new (or finally finish something old), and settle into a rhythm that feels… easy.

Everything is designed to bring people together through creativity.

This trip tends to find people who:

  • Have been craving time to actually sit and create

  • Love the idea of quilting and traveling

  • Want connection without pressure

  • Are ready to do something that feels a little different (and very worth it)

You don’t have to come with someone. You won’t feel alone if you don’t.

Meet the
Sew-lebrities

SewBecca

Started sewing in 2017 with one very simple goal: I wanted to be crafty and practical. I had tried other crafts before, but they always felt like I was buying supplies… to make stuff… to then figure out where on earth to store it. Sewing felt different. Sewing felt useful. Like, look at me, I made a thing I can actually use. If there’s one thing I want you to know, it’s this: grab a package of precuts and just start sewing them together. You don’t need permission. You don’t need perfection. You just need to begin. One of my favorite things about quilting is that it is for everyone. Truly. No matter your skill level, background, or experience, you belong here. It’s not as hard as it looks, and it absolutely does not have to be perfect to be meaningful. (Perfection is wildly overrated anyway.)

Chris Marchini

A quilt pattern designer putting his own unique twist on this timeless artform. After watching quilting videos on YouTube for years, he decided to make a quilt for his mother-in-law for Christmas… that led to him making additional quilts for more family members as gifts. After not being able to find a pattern to match with an idea for a quilt, he started drafting his own patterns. Chris has gained popularity online, growing a large audience on TikTok, Instagram & YouTube where he posts short videos ranging from how-to tutorials to fabric pulls for upcoming projects. His latest projects include a Randomly Generated Quilt and a Year-Long Community Quilt where followers can actively participate in its creation.

Off Kilter Crafter Ian

Discovered quilting in college with the help of his aunt, who guided him through making his first quilt after the one she had sewn for him years earlier finally wore out. Since then, quilting has become a lifelong passion. Ian creates quilts of all kinds, often leaning toward modern designs with bold colors and bright aesthetics. His work has been recognized with 14 ribbons in quilt shows, reflecting both his creativity and skill. Beyond the sewing room, Ian shares his love of quilting through his YouTube channel, where he teaches and inspires quilters around the world, and through The Sew Off Kilter Podcast, where he and fellow quilters explore the humor, challenges, and joys of the craft. He also collaborates with brands and teaches at events, encouraging makers of all levels to find their own creative voice through quilting.
