We’re one-third of the way through the 2025 Quilt Along, and it’s time to take flight with April’s block: the Dutchman’s Puzzle! This month we’re stepping it up with Flying Geese — but using the 4-at-a-time method (little waste, extra sharp results).
The free pattern is ready to download, and the video tutorial drops April 12 — where I’ll walk you through the method, show off my new Cotton Cuts fabrics, and feature some of YOUR amazing blocks from last month!
We’re rounding out our third month with another quick & easy sew - the Economy Block! This is a wonderfully easy block that allows you feature something fun in the center!
This month’s block is perfect for beginners—it’s a simple, straightforward sew that comes together quickly. If you’re more advanced, you can customize it by adjusting the size, playing with color placement, or adding extra details for a unique twist!
The Churn Dash quilt block is a timeless design that's perfect for beginners and versatile enough for experienced quilters. This tutorial walks you through creating the block in four sizes—3", 6", 9", and 12" finished—with clear cutting instructions using just two fabrics. With its simple 3x3 grid layout, the Churn Dash is an excellent way to practice foundational quilting techniques while creating a classic, eye-catching design.
The finishing pattern is all about letting your blocks shine while giving them a little structure and breathing room. The sashing and borders pull everything together into a quilt that feels complete and intentional, without taking away from the work you’ve already done.
